TV star and professional dancer Reece Weaver is bringing the thunder to Broadway! Direct from the hit series America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on Netflix, she will star as Roxie Hart in Chicago in a limited run from September 7 through October 18 at the Ambassador Theatre.
Weaver joined the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in the 2023 rookie class, continuing with the famous DCC squad for three seasons and appearing on the hit Netflix series about the team.
Set in the 1920s, Chicago follows housewife Roxie Hart and vaudeville performer Velma Kelly in their quest to make names for themselves amidst their impending murder trials. In the process, they compete for adoration from the public, the media, and smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn. This year, the current longest-running Broadway production celebrates its 30th year.
