Park Avenue Armory

The Park Avenue Armory is also known as the Seventh Regiment Armory and is a National Guard Armory building. The New York State’s Seventh Regiment of the National Guard, a volunteer militia, built Park Avenue Armory in 1861.

Shows at Park Avenue Armory blend visual art exhibitions and the performing arts in its unique space. The first production at Park Avenue Armory was in 2007 — artist Aaron Young choreographed 12 motorcycles to create a painting. In recent years, the venue has hosted celebrated New York premieres including the Tony Award-winning The Lehman Trilogy.
