Natalie Palamides's new show will be the first theatre production at the historic Off-Broadway venue since 2023, when the film studio A24 assumed ownership.

Following a renovation and a change in ownership, the Off-Broadway Cherry Lane Theatre will reopen with a production of comedian and actress Natalie Palamides's solo play Weer, running from September 20 to October 19. Opening night is September 28.

Palamides also directs and performs this one-woman show set on New Year's Eve 1999, just as midnight is about to strike. She plays both members of a couple in a fight: the left side of her body as the man, the right as the woman.

Before its New York debut, the show played at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival to acclaim. One 4.5-star review, published in the online comedy publication Chortle, reads, "It takes a rare talent to unleash such visceral chaos and keep everyone on board. Palamides is that talent."

Weer is the first show to play at the Cherry Lane since the historic venue was acquired by the film studio A24 in 2023 and subsequently closed for renovations. Having opened as a theatre in 1923, it is the oldest continuously operating Off-Broadway venue in New York.

Future productions and events at the Cherry Lane — including theatre, comedy, music, film screenings, and more — will be announced on a rolling basis.
