'My Son's a Queer (But What Can You Do?)" postpones Broadway run
The solo play with music, created and performed by Rob Madge, was set to start performances at the Lyceum Theatre on February 27 for a limited engagement.
My Son's a Queer (But What Can You Do?) will no longer open on Broadway this season. The show, originally scheduled for a 17-week run at the Lyceum Theatre beginning February 27, now plans to open in the 2024-25 Broadway season.
Rob Madge, a veteran theatre performer in London's West End, wrote and performs this solo show, which already had multiple acclaimed runs in the U.K. My Son's a Queer sees Madge recreate a Disney parade they tried to stage in their living room as a kid.
With original songs (by Madge and Pippa Cleary), elaborate costumes, home video, and more, Madge also celebrates how their family's support and acceptance helped them grow into their queer identity.
A theatre and dates for the future run of My Son's a Queer have yet to be announced.
