Cast set for 'the ripple, the wave that carried me home' off Broadway

Tony Award nominee Crystal Lucas-Perry and more will lead Christina Anderson's drama at Playwrights Horizons for a limited run starting in October.

Playwrights Horizons has set the complete cast for its Off-Broadway production of Christina Anderson’s the ripple, the wave that carried me home, directed by Tiffany Nichole Greene. Performances run October 21 to November 29, with opening night on November 18.

The cast includes Marinda Anderson (Yellow Face) as Gayle, Alana Raquel Bowers (Chicken and Biscuits) as Janice, Biko Eisen-Martin (Table 17) as Edwin, and Tony Award nominee Crystal Lucas-Perry (Ain't No Mo', 1776) as Helen.

Alongside Greene, the creative team includes set designer Lawrence E. Moten III, costume designer Rodrigo Muñoz, lighting designer Lap Chi Chu, sound designer Chris Darbassie, wig and hair designer Earon Chew Nealey, and production stage manager Shiku Thuo.

Anderson's the ripple, the wave that carried me home follows Janice, who distanced herself from her civil rights-activist parents but must reckon with their history and legacy when called to speak at a ceremony honoring her father.
