Sherri Shepherd stars as the Genie in Aladdin on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre. She will be the first woman to play the role on Broadway.
Shepherd made her Broadway debut as Madame in Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella in 2014. She is best known, however, for co-hosting the talk show The View from 2007-14, earning six Daytime Emmy Award nominations and winning one. She earned an additional nomination for her own talk show, Sherri, which aired from 2022-26.
Shepherd has also starred in the sitcoms The Jamie Foxx Show, Less than Perfect, Sherri, Trial & Error, and Mr. Iglesias and had recurring roles on 30 Rock and The Sex Lives of College Girls.
