Tony and Olivier Award-nominated writer Nick Payne (Constellations, Incognito) returns to New York with The Unbelievers off Broadway. Directed by Tony Award nominee Knud Adams (English, Cold War Choir Practice), The Unbelievers is a powerful story about faith, hope, and loss.

Miriam and David seem to be an ordinary couple, but they are coping with anything but: years ago, their teenage son went missing, and they are no closer to solving the case. Going about their days, they hold onto hope in the dark, even as it tests them. Despite this difficult subject matter, the play is as surprisingly funny as it is touching. Living normal days in an altered world, Miriam and David explore the profound in the mundane without ever losing faith in the power of hope.

London Theatre also celebrated the writing: "Constellations writer Nick Payne is an expert at burrowing into the dark, nitty-gritty corners of relationships, and the focus here is not the mystery of Oscar’s disappearance, rather how, like an atom once one proton has been removed, the entire chemistry of a family changes if it loses a person."
