World-premiere play 'The Blue Parts' to run off Broadway this spring

The show marks the return of Roundabout Theatre Company's acclaimed Roundabout Underground series of new works by emerging artists.

Roundabout Theatre Company will present the world-premiere play The Blue Parts off Broadway this fall, running at the Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre from February 18 to April 18, 2027. Opening night is March 11.

Described as a "tale of migration to and from Brighton Beach," The Blue Parts is set during a powerful storm, when store owner Marina and an environmental-activist teenager are trapped together and must swim the gulf between them.

The Blue Parts is written by Liba Vaynberg and directed by Lee Sunday Evans. The cast and additional creative team members have yet to be announced.

The play marks the return of the Roundabout Underground series for new works by emerging artists. Recent acclaimed plays that premiered with Roundabout Underground include Sanaz Toossi's Pulitzer Prize-winning English, Harrison David Rivers's the bandaged place, and York Walker's Covenant.
