Whoopi Goldberg, Kerry Washington, Jenny Slate, more featured in Lincoln Center Theater's 2025-26 season

The nonprofit organization, which operates one Broadway venue and two Off-Broadway venues, has announced numerous productions, readings, events, and comedy acts.

Lincoln Center Theater has set its 2025-26 season of Broadway and Off-Broadway programming, its first under artistic director Lear deBessonet.

As previously announced, the season will open with Ragtime on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, starting performances September 26 ahead of an October 16 opening. Joshua Henry, Caissie Levy, and Brandon Uranowitz star; find out the additional casting here.

The latest revival of the Tony Award-winning musical, about the intersecting lives of various social and racial groups in a rapidly changing early-20th-century NYC, comes to Broadway following a critically acclaimed concert production at New York City Center under deBessonet's direction. The musical features a score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, a book by Terrence McNally adapted from E. L. Doctorow's novel, and original orchestrations by William David Brohn.

Three new productions have been announced for LCT's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater off Broadway. The first is Kyoto, a hit play from London written by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson and directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin (Stranger Things: The First Shadow). Stephen Kunken stars in this play set at the Kyoto Conference Centre in 1997, when American oil lobbyist and master strategist Don Pearlman emerges as the greatest obstacle to a climate change agreement between nations.

Performances begin October 8 ahead of a November 3 opening. Kyoto was commissioned by Good Chance Theatre and is presented by arrangement with Royal Shakespeare Company, Good Chance Theatre, Rachel Styne, and Jessica Foung.

Next at the Newhouse is Amahl and the Night Visitors, a family opera for the holiday season, running December 16 to January 4. Opening night is December 18. The show, directed by Kenny Leon and featuring opera star Joyce DiDonato, follows a young boy who sees a giant star and is visted by three kings on their way to visit a newborn baby. The show is composed by Gian Carlo Menotti.

In summer 2026, beginning July 7 and opening July 16, is The Whoopi Monologues, written by Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony winner Whoopi Goldberg and starring Emmy Award winner Kerry Washington (Scandal) and Tony winner Kara Young (Purpose). The production is a reimagining of Goldberg's self-titled, trailblazing 1984 solo show for a new generation. Whitney White directs.

The next slate of LCT shows will play the company's smallest Off-Broadway venue, the Claire Tow Theater. There, beginning in October 2025, will be The Comedy Series, featuring comedian Jenny Slate and more stand-up acts to be announced. The series is presented jointly by LCT and Seaview.

Next up is the musical Night Side Songs, written by The Lazours (We Live in Cairo) and directed by Taibi Magar. The show explores the healing power of song and uplifts the voices of patients, caregivers, medical professionals, and others navigating the complexities of health care.

Performances begin February 14 ahead of a March 2 opening.

Finally, playwright Julia May Jonas (Your Own Personal Exegesis) returns to LCT with A Woman Among Women, beginning May 16 ahead of a June 1 opening. On a summer day in Northampton, Massachusetts, Cleo, the founder of the local women’s wellness center, holds court in her backyard with friends, family, and neighbors — but there's a tension that may destroy the community she's built.

The play, billed as a counterpoint to All My Sons by Arthur Miller, is presented in partnership with New Georges and the Bushwick Starr.

Additional programming includes a silent disco listening party for Lin-Manuel Miranda's concept album Warriors on July 30, the "Come & Sing" series of public singing events presented in collaboration with Tony-winning songwriter Jeanine Tesori, and a series of play readings at the Claire Tow curated by playwrights Ayad Akhtar, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Lynn Nottage, Sarah Ruhl, Marco Ramirez, and J.T. Rogers.

Additional cast and creative team members for all the above productions have yet to be named.
