'Little Bear Ridge Road,' starring Laurie Metcalf, to close on Broadway

The road is ending. Originally set to run through February, Little Bear Ridge Road has now set a Broadway closing date of December 21 at the Booth Theatre. At the time of closing, it will have played 89 total performances.
Directed by Joe Mantello, Little Bear Ridge Road follows Sarah (Laurie Metcalf) and Ethan (Micah Stock), an estranged aunt and nephew who attempt to rekindle a connection after a family member's death. The show also features John Drea as James and Meighan Gerachis as Paulette.
"Little Bear Ridge Road is a superbly acted and achingly poignant 90 minutes of theatre," New York Theatre Guide's review reads. "The characters may feel alien to each other and even themselves, but they're messily, sometimes infuriatingly, and altogether relatably human."
The play marks the Broadway debut of playwright Samuel D. Hunter, known for acclaimed Off-Broadway dramas like A Case for the Existence of God and The Whale, which was adapted into an Oscar-winning film.
