Taraji P. Henson makes her Broadway debut as Bertha Holly in Joe Turner's Come and Gone on Broadway at the Barrymore Theatre from March 30 to July 12, 2026.
A Golden Globe winner and Oscar, Tony, and six-time Emmy nominee, Henson is one of the most well-known and prolific actors working today. She ventured into Broadway for the first time as a producer of the Tony-nominated Jaja's African Hair Braiding in 2023, but she is best known for her screen work, gaining widespread recognition for her breakout performance in the film Hustle & Flow (SAG Award nomination, BET Award for Best Actress) and Oscar-nominated turn as Queenie in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Additional high-profile film roles include mathematician Katherine Johnson in Hidden Figures and Shug Avery in the movie musical The Color Purple. On TV, she won a Golden Globe and received two Emmy nominations for playing Cookie Lyon in Fox's Empire; she also became the first Black woman to win a Critics Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Her guest role on the ABC sitcom Abbott Elementary and starring role in the Lifetime movie Taken from Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story earned her additional Emmy nods.
