Melody Butiu stars as Sofia Flores in The Queen of Versailles on Broadway at the St. James Theatre from October 8, 2025.
Butiu is best known for her Broadway performances as Estrella Cumpas in Here Lies Love on Broadway in 2023 — reprising her performance from the show's Off-Broadway premiere with The Public Theater 10 years earlier — and as Kubarikha in Doctor Zhivago. Additionally, she played Sofia Flores in the pre-Broadway world premiere of the Kristin Chenoweth-led musical The Queen of Versailles in Boston in 2024.
Butiu appeared on screen in the movie Easter Sunday and in TV shows like FBI and Young Sheldon.
