Kerry Butler is celebrated for originating comic roles in multiple contemporary musicals. Her stage credits included Penny Pingleton in Hairspray, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Barbara in Beetlejuice, and Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. Butler received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in Xanadu.
