
John Early stars in Wallace Shawn's What We Did Before Our Moth Days off Broadway at the Greenwich House Theater from February 4, 2026.
Early received Emmy nominations for writing his HBO stand-up special Now More Than Ever and his A24 sketch special Would It Kill You To Laugh, which he co-created with his frequent collaborator Kate Berlant.
He is best known, however, for starring as Elliott Goss in five seasons of the critically acclaimed HBO Max series Search Party and appearing in the recurring role of Detective Culp in The Afterparty. Additional TV credits include At Home with Amy Sedaris, two Wet Hot American Summer spinoff miniseries, and episodes of shows like 30 Rock, Bob's Burgers, American Dad!, Rick and Morty, and Girls5Eva.
His stage work includes producing a revival of Wallace Shawn's Marie and Bruce and directing Jacqueline Novak's hit comedy show Get On Your Knees off Broadway.
