Javier Muñoz stars as Bishop Maffeo Barberini in Galileo on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre from November 10, 2026.
Muñoz is best known as the first replacement for Lin-Manuel Miranda in the title role of Hamilton on Broadway, which he assumed full-time after performing as his alternate in the original cast. He previously understudied, and later replaced, Miranda as Usnavi in In the Heights on Broadway, earning a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble alongside his castmates. He later cameoed in the musical's 2021 film adaptation.
Additionally, he had a recurring guest role as Lorenzo Rey in Shadowhunters.
