'The Shark Is Broken' to offer Broadway rush and lottery tickets
The Olivier Award-nominated play from London will play a limited engagement at Broadway's Golden Theatre, going behind the scenes of the blockbuster film Jaws.
Sink your teeth into this! The new Broadway play The Shark Is Broken will offer rush and lottery tickets throughout its Broadway run. The show begins performances at the Golden Theatre on July 25 for a limited 16-week engagement.
The Shark Is Broken offers a digital lottery for $46 tickets. The lottery is open for entries between midnight and 3 p.m. the day before each performance, and winners are drawn at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Winners have five hours to purchase up to two tickets for the next day's performance.
Rush tickets will also be available in person at the Golden Theatre box office for $30. Rush tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis when the box office opens at 10 a.m. each day. Each person can purchase up to two tickets, and rush tickets are subject to availability — they may not be offered at all performances.
The Shark Is Broken dives deep behind the scenes of the groundbreaking summer blockbuster Jaws. With filming behind schedule and the mechanical sharks repeatedly breaking down, the movie's three stars, all crammed onto a tiny boat, start to reach their wits' end.
Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon co-wrote the comedy, which received an Olivier Award nomination for its premiere in London's West End. Shaw reprises the role of his father, Robert Shaw, opposite Alex Brightman as Richard Dreyfuss and Colin Donnell as Roy Scheider.
