New play 'Bughouse' to premiere off Broadway in February
Adapted by Beth Henley from the writings of janitor/artist Henry Darger, the show stars award-winning performer John Kelly under Martha Clarke's direction.

Vineyard Theatre will present the world premiere of Bughouse off Broadway for a six-week run this winter, starting February 18 ahead of a March 11 opening.
Bughouse stars Obie Award-winning performance artist John Kelly as Henry Darger, a reclusive janitor who gained posthumous fame for his extensive body of art and writing only discovered after his death. Through his works, Darger made up a vast and fantastical alternate universe of child warriors, epic battles, and haunting beauty.
The text of the show is adapted by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Beth Henley from Darger's own writings, and Martha Clarke directs. Bughouse also features production design by Neil Patel, costume design by Donna Zakowska, lighting design by Christopher Akerlind, sound design by Arthur Solari, projection design by John Narun, set decoration and props by Faye Armon-Troncoso, cinematography by Fred Murphy, and animation by Ruth Lingford.
