Ragtime is a sweeping portrait of early-20th-century New York, weaving together the stories of fictional characters from three social groups — wealthy white suburbanites, the Black community, and immigrants — with real historical figures. Director Lear deBessonet's production premiered to acclaim at New York City Center in 2024 before moving to Broadway, and our critic raved, "Between its robust score, showcase moments for the cast, and evergreen resonance, Ragtime is easy to heartily recommend."
