Ohio, a new musical created and performed by Obie Award-winning duo The Bengsons, will open off Broadway at the Greenwich House Theater this winter. Performances run from January 17 to March 27, with a January 26 opening.

Spouses Abigail and Shaun Bengson are known for other Off-Broadway musicals like My Joy Is Heavy and The Keep Going Songs, and for performing their music in Broadway show like All In. Ohio is a show "about losing faith and finding hope," inspired by Shaun's journey away from the church and toward music, and his diagnosis with acute degenerative hearing loss.

Ohio had an acclaimed, sold-out run at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it won The Scotsman’s Fringe First Award and was a finalist for the Popcorn Writing Award. It went on to further U.K. productions in Bristol and London.

For the Off-Broadway premiere, director Caitlin Sullivan leads a creative team that also includes video designer David Bengali, lighting designer Bethany Gupwell, set designer Cate McCrea, sound designer Nick Kourtides, and access dramaturg Alison Kopit.

Ohio is produced by Francesca Moody Productions (Fleabag, Baby Reindeer), Mike & Carlee Productions (Oh, Mary!), and Weathervane Productions.
