'Life of Pi' to offer Broadway rush and lottery tickets
The Olivier Award-winning play, which comes to New York after a hit London run, begins performances on Thursday, March 9 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
Get ready to set sail! Life of Pi, the stage adaptation of Yann Martel's adventure novel, will offer rush and lottery tickets for its Broadway run. Performances begin March 9 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre ahead of a March 30 opening night.
Rush tickets will be sold in person at the Schoenfeld box office for $40. The box office opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon on Sunday. Each person can purchase up to two tickets for that day's performance on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are subject to availability.
In addition, Life of Pi has a digital lottery for $45 tickets. The lottery is open for entries between midnight and 3 p.m. the day before each performance. Winners are drawn at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and they have five hours to claim and purchase their tickets for the next day's performance.
What is Life of Pi about?
Life of Pi centers on a teenager, the title Pi, who is the sole human survivor of a shipwreck. He and the other survivors, a quartet of wild animals, battle for survival and learn to cohabitate on the high seas.
Lolita Chakrabarti adapted the stage production from Yann Martel's novel. Life of Pi previously premiered in London's West End, winning multiple Olivier Awards including Best New Play.
