Julianne Moore to star in world premiere of Sarah Ruhl's 'Faydra'

Directed by Tony Award nominee Les Waters, Ruhl's play is a modern take on the classic Greek myth about Faydra's all-devouring lust for her soon-to-be stepson.

Academy Award winner Julianne Moore will return to the stage in the world premiere of Faydra, written by Tony Award nominee and two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl. Performances begin February 2, 2027, with opening night on February 25, 2027.

Directed by Tony Award nominee Les Waters, Ruhl's play is a modern take on the classic Greek myth about Faydra's all-devouring lust for her soon-to-be stepson.

Known for her acclaimed film and TV career, Moore's credits include The Big Lebowski, Still Alice, The Hours, and May December. She will star in The Debut this winter, a new film written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg. Moore also starred in the movie musical Dear Evan Hansen in 2021.

Faydra reunites Moore with Waters, following their collaboration on Caryl Churchill's Ice Cream with Hot Fudge at the Public Theater in 1990.
