'Henry VI: A Trilogy in Two Parts' joins The Public Theater's Off-Broadway summer season

A co-production with NAATCO, the acclaimed adaptation of Shakespeare's Henry VI, Parts 1-3 will be performed as two shows in repertory for a limited time.

The Public Theater will host a return engagement of the National Asian American Theatre Company's Henry VI: A Trilogy in Two Parts, adapted from Shakespeare's Henry VI, Parts 1-3. Performances run June 9 to July 19, with opening night on June 21.

The trilogy has been condensed into two parts, which will be performed at the Public on alternating nights. Part 1: Foreign Wars begins with King Henry V's funeral and the coronation of his infant son, which sends the kingdom into chaos. Part 2: Civil Strife picks up nearly 30 years later, as domestic feuds mount and eventually explode into the War of the Roses.

Stephen Brown-Fried directs the production, which first played off Broadway in 2018 to critical acclaim.

The 2026 cast includes Tommy Bo as John Talbot, Rajesh Bose as York, Kimiye Corwin as Somerset, Myka Cue as Joan, John Haggerty as Talbot, Ðavid Lee Huỳnh as Charles/the Dauphin, Anna Ishida as Warwick, Paul Juhn as Suffolk, Mia Katigbak as Gloucester, Teresa Avia Lim as Margaret, Orville Mendoza as Jack Cade, Jon Norman Schneider as Henry VI, David Shih as Edward of York, Julyana Soelistyo as Richard, Sue Jin Song as Bedford, and James Yaegashi as Winchester.

The show also has scenic design by dots, costume design by threeASFOUR, lighting design by Mextly Couzin, sound design by Kate Marvin, and prop management by Thomas Jenkeleit.
