Guide to Billy Crystal’s Broadway solo show ‘860’

860 is an autobiographical solo play by Emmy and Tony Award winner Billy Crystal, who reflects on suddenly losing his family’s Pacific Palisades home in the catastrophic 2025 California fires. The title refers to the address of the property where he and his wife, Janice, raised their family and made memories for 46 years. Crystal will also look back on his life and career throughout the show.

Beginning October 1, 860 is playing at the Imperial Theatre, located at 249 W. 45th St. between Broadway and Eighth Avenue.

The Imperial Theatre was built for the Shubert Organization and officially opened on December 25, 1923 with the musical* Mary Jane McKane*. Recent productions at the theatre include Chess, Smash, Water for Elephants, Bad Cinderella, and Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations.

860 runs 1 hour and 40 minutes without an intermission.

860 is recommended for ages 12+. The play explores sensitive topics of personal loss and the aftermath of a devastating event, so it’s not for kids.

Beginning October 1, 860 plays Tuesday through Sunday, with two performances Saturdays and no performances on Mondays. Tickets are currently on sale through January 2, 2027.

860 makes its world premiere on Broadway from October 1, 2026 to January 2, 2027 at the Imperial Theatre. Billy Crystal wrote and developed the play after the 2025 Palisades fires that cut a path of deadly destruction.

Billy Crystal wrote and performs as himself in 860. He is known as a comic actor whose credits include Saturday Night Live, The Princess Bride, Analyze This, and When Harry Met Sally....

A six-time Emmy Award winner for hosting and writing the Grammys and Oscars awards shows, Crystal is also a Broadway veteran. He wrote and starred in the Tony Award-winning solo show 700 Sundays, about his father’s death when he was 15. It premiered in 2004 and returned for an encore run in 2013. He also co-wrote and starred in the 2022 musical Mr. Saturday Night, based on the 1992 film he co-authored and starred in.

860 premieres on Broadway this fall, so it hasn’t received any awards yet. The show will be in the running for the 2026-27 season’s upcoming New York awards, including Tony Awards.

Crystal has previously earned various prizes and nominations for his other theatre work. His last Broadway solo show, 700 Sundays, won a Special Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event and a Drama Desk Award for Best Solo Performance. Mr. Saturday Night also received Tony and Drama Desk nominations, including for Crystal's performance and script.

The 2026 Broadway run of 860 is the only major production so far. The world-premiere show runs October 1, 2026 to January 2, 2027.

Billy Crystal's 860 has not been adapted for the screen yet, but that could happen down the road — his last solo stage show, 700 Sundays, was filmed for HBO in 2014.
