'Gazillion Bubble Show' to end 19-year-long Off-Broadway run

The family-friendly bubble and light show has been a fixture of the New York theatre scene since 2007 and will now play its final performance in September.

After 19 years in NYC, Gazillion Bubble Show will end its Off-Broadway run, playing its final performance at New World Stages on September 7.

Gazillion Bubble Show opened in 2007 and has been a staple of the city's family-friendly theatre offerings ever since. The show features members of the Yang family — including creator Fan Yang and relatives Ana, Jano, Deni, and Melody — performing bubble tricks accompanied by music, light shows, and more, with interactive moments for attendees of all ages.

At the time of closing, Gazillion Bubble Show will have played 6,802 performances for over 1 million audience members. The show will celebrate its final months as “The Summer of Bubbles,” with special events, audience celebrations, surprise moments, and more at the remaining performances.

For 19 years, New York has dreamed in bubbles,” Fan Yang said in a statement. “What began as a unique family production became something much greater than we ever imagined. Gazillion Bubble Show became part of the memories of millions of families from around the world. We are deeply grateful to every audience member, performer, and supporter who helped make this show part of the fabric of New York City.”

Future national international tours are planned for Gazillion Bubble Show once the NYC run ends, with details to be announced.
