Cast set for Ryan J. Haddad's 'Good Time Charlie' off Broadway

The Public Theater has named the cast for its fall production of Good Time Charlie, running off Broadway from September 24 to October 18, with opening night on October 9.

The playwright, Ryan J. Haddad, will also star as Ryan alongside Timothy Bagley (Will & Grace) as Lou, Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Michael Cristofer (The Shadow Box, Mr. Robot) as Sheldon, Tony nominee Beth Malone (Fun Home) as Janice, Nael Nacer (Prayer for the French Republic) as Charlie Sr./Bob, Artemis Pebdani (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Scandal) as Joan/Judy, and Emmy winner Jonathan Raviv (The Band's Visit) as Charlie. Sherz Aletaha, Nicholas Barrón, and Doug Shapiro are understudies.

Danny Sharron directs Haddad's comedic play following multiple generations of gay men, starting with Charlie, who channeled his love for the arts into his nephew, Ryan, when he became a dentist.

Good Time Charlie will also feature scenic design by Afsoon Pajoufar, costume design by Enver Chakartash, lighting design by Barbara Samuels, sound design and composition by Ryan Gamblin, hair, wig, and makeup design by Robert Pickens, fight direction by Tom Schall, music consultation by Andrea Grody, and dramaturgy by Sarah Lunnie.
