'Bob Fosse's Dancin'' to close on Broadway

The dance revue features two hours of rarely seen numbers by the multi-award-winning choreographer known for Chicago, Cabaret, Sweet Charity, and more.

They're putting their dancin' shoes away. The first revival of Bob Fosse's Dancin' will close on Broadway this month, playing its final performance at the Music Box Theatre on May 14. At the time of closing, the show will have played 82 total performances.

Bob Fosse's Dancin' premiered in 1978, then just called Dancin', featuring two hours of wall-to-wall, then-new Fosse choreography. Wayne Cilento, a Tony-nominated member of the original company, directs the revival.

Together with Christine Colby Jacques and Corinne McFadden Herrera, he almost entirely preserves Fosse's moves from the original production and adds in choreography from some of Fosse's most famous musicals, like Chicago and Cabaret.

New York Theatre Guide's four-star review of Bob Fosse's Dancin reads, "Bob Fosse's Dancin'... reminds us of the breadth of Fosse's talent and resurfaces a facet of his legacy we often forget: joy. Dancin' brims with it — in Fosse's moves, the dancers' soaring energy, the lively orchestra, and, thanks to all that, in the audience."

The cast includes Yeman Brown, Peter John Chursin, Dylis Croman, Jovan Dansberry, Karli Dinardo, Tony d’Alelio, Aydin Eyikan, Manuel Herrera, Gabriel Hyman, Kolton Krouse, Mattie Love, Krystal Mackie, Yani Marin, Nando Morland, Khori Michelle Petinaud, Ida Saki, Ron Todorowski, and Neka Zang.
