One of the biggest events in the theatre calendar is the annual Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in which thousands of theatregoers descend on the Scottish city to see a variety of shows including circus, comedy, dance, and theatre. Plenty of shows had their start at the fringe, including global success story SIX and the true-crime musical Kathy and Stella Solve Murder!, and many of this year’s artists will be hoping their shows follow a similar path. Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins will once again set the world of rock ’n’ roll on fire, as Million Dollar Quartet heads to the West End’s newest venue The Arts at Marble Arch powered by TodayTix. The show follows the world-famous musicians during an unplanned jam session at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee, featuring hit songs from their back catalogue including “Blue Suede Shoes”, “Fever”, “Walk The Line”, and “Hound Dog”. A million dreams have been answered, as Disney’s The Greatest Showman has finally announced its London premiere plans. Samantha Barks (Frozen) and Oliver Tompsett (& Juliet) will reprise their roles as Charity and P.T. Barnum following a run in Bristol, with performances beginning at Theatre Royal Drury Lane (where Barks starred in Frozen) in spring 2027. We can’t wait to see what they do with the story of the circus pioneer on stage.

Lolly Adefope is the latest star to take on alcoholic, cabaret-obsessed First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln in Cole Escola’s riotous comedy, set during the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. With a background in stand-up, the British comedian is perfectly placed to follow in the footsteps of Mason Alexander Park, Catherine Tate, Jinkx Monsoon, and the show’s creator Escola — and don that famous bratty wig.

September is an exciting month for the child (now adult!) stars of Netflix’s global megahit series Stranger Things.
