About Dirty Dancing

Get Dirty Dancing: The Musical tickets when they go on sale on New York Theatre Guide, and get ready to have the time of your life. Featuring hit songs from the film including "Hungry Eyes", "Do You Love Me?", "She's Like the Wind", and the Academy Award- and Grammy Award-winning "(I've Had) The Time of My Life", Dirty Dancing: The Musical promises to thrill audiences with electrifying songs, sultry choreography, and heart-pounding romance.

Dirty Dancing: The Musical on Broadway comes to New York City after touring the United States, now bowing at the Lena Horne Theatre starting February 12, 2027. As with the hit film, this musical follows Frances "Baby" Houseman, who is vacationing in the Catskills with her family where she meets the charismatic dance instructor Johnny Castle. What follows is a romance for the ages that shows young love, when following the right steps and beats, is unstoppable — even if others try to break it apart.

The Chicago Tribune raved that this "classy new tour gives Dirty Dancing: The Musical quite a lift.” The 1987 film was written by Eleanor Bergstein, who based the story off of her own upbringing. Now, she is adapting the show for the stage.

Originally starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, the musical adaptation stars Annalese Starzec (as Frances "Baby" Houseman) and Blake Zelesnikar (as Johnny Castle) and is directed by Tony Award nominee Lonny Price, who appeared in the original film. Another Broadway icon, Jerry Orbach, also starred in the original film, which brought in another showbiz name: Kenny Ortega, who choreographed the film before heading onto the High School Musical franchise.

Get ready to feel the heat, fall in love, and be floored by summer dancing. Tickets to Dirty Dancing: The Musical in New York will be available here soon.
