That original production, directed by James Lapine, made stars out of actors Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) and Celia Keenan-Bolger (To Kill a Mockingbird). The delectable score by the late, great William Finn (Falsettos) features humdingers like "I Speak Six Languages," "Pandemonium," and "The I Love You Song," and Rachel Sheinkin won a Tony Award for her delightful book.

With a cast of colorful characters, including wise students and not-so-wise adults, the musical is a charmer thanks to its inventive structure: the audience plays an active role in the action.
