About Omaha
May 25th, 1972. Omaha, Nebraska. Everyone in town is talking about the heavyweight championship fight between Ron Stander and Joe Frazier. 16-year-old Tim Palensky is home from Military school and would love nothing more than to go to the fight but can't afford it. Meanwhile, George Foreman is in town watching the fight, hoping to get his shot at the title.

This play features a day in the life of an Omaha family with mundane problems--teen/parent conflict, money, unemployment, classism. I enjoyed the naturalistic realism. The 1972 aspects were well-captured, especially given this is a low-budget production. The actors embodied their parts well. It felt strangely nostalgic to be transported to the 1972 Midwest, which was actually my childhood too. The dialogue felt natural. Overall, a relatable, naturalistic family drama that I very much enjoyed.
