After a splash-hit, three-year Off-Broadway run, Titanique is setting sail once again! The award-winning musical spoof on the Titanic movie is docking on Broadway for a limited time only with a starry cast led by Emmy winner Jim Parsons, Grammy nominee Deborah Cox, Frankie Grande, and award-winning original stars and co-creators Marla Mindelle and Constantine Rousouli.
What do you get when you combine the music of Céline Dion, the 11-time Oscar-winning film Titanic, and a whole bunch of utterly wacky humor? You get the Titanique musical, which is as much a tragic love story as it is an uproarious comedy. In the show, Dion herself (okay, an actress playing her) interrupts a Titanic museum tour to share what really happened to Jack and Rose on that fated cruise. Of-the-moment pop culture jokes and Dion's greatest hits, — like "All By Myself," "To Love You More," and of course, "My Heart Will Go On" — all feature in her zany take on the classic movie's story.
Tye Blue directs Titanique off Broadway, and he also co-wrote the musical with Marla Mindelle (who reprises her original performance as Celine Dion) and Constantine Rousouli. The show initially had pop-up concert engagements in Los Angeles and New York, earning Titanique the 2019 BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award. Amid the pandemic, Titanique brought Dion's music to living rooms nationwide with Titanique: The Maiden Voyage Concert, and the 2022-25 Off-Broadway run marked its first fully staged production, and it made waves by winning Lucille Lortel and Obie Awards and spawning multiple international productions.
