About Katsura Sunshine's Rakugo
With a minimal set, Katsura Sunshine's Rakugo, now in its fifth year, features a lone storyteller dressed in kimono, kneeling on a cushion, using only a fan and a hand towel for props, entertains the audience with a comic monologue followed by a traditional story.
Rakugo is the 400-year-old Japanese traditional art of comic storytelling, currently there are only 800 Rakugo Masters. Hailing from Canada and called the King of Kimono Comedy, Sunshine is the only Western Rakugo Master in the world and star of NHK Worldwide. He is hilarious, charming, universally funny and yet so very Japanese. Sunshine is the perfect performer to bridge the gap between the East and the West, in a hilarious style.

Deeply broad, unc-type humor. Not terribly funny but worth going to see as an art form. Apprentice Katsura Moonlight was by far and away the highlight of the show.
It’s a must-watch solo piece to learn about the Japanese culture in a superbly crafted comedy style - be ready to massage those cheeks from laughter
I expect to have fun of Rakuten in English. But I could have a fun the Ramiro in English too much.
